HR Management

Another salient feature of the revamping Programme is the strengthening of clinical and non-clinical staff in 125 DHQ and THQ hospitals. A major investment in improving the Non-clinical staff of the hospital is the introduction of Management Cadre. To increase the efficiency of hospitals, the clerical staff will be replaced with 1525 specialized, trained and qualified personnel. 11 categories of specialized and experienced officials (Including Procurement Officers, Admin Officers,IT/Statistical officers,HR/Legal Officers,Finance and Budget Officers, Audit officer, Data Entry Operators, Quality Asssurance officers,Biomedical engineer,Assistant Admin officer and Logistics Officer ) will be appointed in the DHQ hospitals whereas skilled persons from 9 different areas will be appointed in every THQ hospitals. To empower the clinical structure of hospitals, 13500 additional clinical positions will be introduced in the 125 DHQ and THQ hospitals of Punjab including consultants, Nurses, EMOs, WMOs, Pharmacist and Physiotherapist.

Out sourcing

The government is outsourcing 7 non clinical and ancillary clinical services to leading service providers including: 1. Janitorial 2. Security and parking 3. Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) 4. Horticulture 5. Generators 6. Laundry 7. Cafeteria

Queue Management

Queue management system integrated with appointment scheduler is implemented in the hospital. It is specially designed for hospital to facilitate the booking.

Procurement of Medical & Non biomedical Equipment

Hospitals shall be equipped with modern biomedical and non-biomedical equipment. Non-biomedical equipment of Rs.1.525 billion and biomedical equipment worth Rs.3.42 billion has been procured in Phase -1 of the revamping program. Similarly in phase-2, Rs. 4.775 billion for Non biomedical and Rs.5.88 billion for biomedical equipment will be utilized to ensure quality services in the hospitals. A well planned Oxygen supply system is designed for each major health facility for timely provision of life saving treatment. Specialized I.C.U, C.C.U, Burn Units, Dialysis Unit, C.T Scan, Dental Unit, and Physiotherapy Units are being introduced in these hospitals. World class Pathology and Radiology services are made available in the hospitals to ease a common man. 6 billion rupees have been spent for the supply of high quality medicines from leading pharmaceutical manufacturers which can be used by rich and poor alike. In addition to that, these hospitals will be equipped with a range of Non-biomedical equipment including ventilators, generators, refrigerators, washing machines, CCTV cameras, LED TVs, bed sheets, blankets, air curtains and benches etc.
